Your responsibilities

As our Development Engineer, you will be a pivotal part of our R&D department, playing a crucial role in defining and designing the assembly stations and lines for the new to be developed products. 

You will be the central specialist for the selected Robotics and PLC, hardware and software (ABB, Fanuc, Siemens, B&R). You are responsible for controlling, modifying, optimising, and maintaining the chosen solutions until handover to the receiving production plant as well as technically responsible for onsite implementation of the new assembly/OT processes, where you will work together with the local project team

You assist in defining the architecture of Operational Technology (OT), working closely together with IT. Main contributions within Digitization, Manufacturing technologies, smart products and smart working.

You create and maintain groupwide standards for assembly and OT, based on industry standards. You also share best practices via Expert groups. In addition to this, you also investigate new emerging technologies and assess which could be relevant for future implementation. 

Your qualifications

You possess strong analytical skills and have a knack for problem solving. You excel in communicating and collaborating with stakeholders across departments. You are hands on and work well in a team. Furthermore: 

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical field, such as industrial automation, electrical engineering, or information technology.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within a manufacturing environment. (Automotive is even more preferred.) 
  • You have extensive knowledge of operational technology, Robotics, PLC, Industrial Automation, and SCADA. 
  • You are proficient in English.
  • You have experience with project management and leading technical projects.
  • You are familiar with safety standards and guidelines for OT systems. 
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or other continuous improvement methodologies is a valuable asset.
