Your responsibilities

As our Technical Buyer, you will be a pivotal part of our purchasing department, playing a crucial role in creating new products. As Technical Buyer you are responsible for the entire procurement process. You are responsible for all procurement related to Tooling, this means that you take care of the production tools (such as dies and transport fingers). You are in close contact with the engineers to discuss technical requirements and possibilities for procurement. 

In addition, you create the basis for the execution of the Supply Chain processes by establishing agreements and contracts with the suppliers released by Nedschroef. The Purchase Manager is your point of contact regarding internal purchasing procedures and the purchasing action plan. You also have contact with the suppliers in connection with preparing and concluding contracts and purchase orders and maintaining long-term relationships. In the future, the goal is to create a standardized list to automate part of the procurement process. 

Other responsibilities:

  • Receiving and reviewing requisitions in a timely manner.
  • Preparing (framework) contracts and timely processing of orders received.
  • Determining and defining the desired developments within your own purchasing package.
  • Initiating, developing, drawing up, optimizing and adjusting purchasing-related processes and procedures.
  • Assessing suppliers using the Supplier Management System.
  • Market research, supplier comparison, evaluation and selection, and building and maintaining good rapport with commercial relationships.
  • Continuously initiate, coordinate and direct development, implementation and support for improved methods, procedures and system.
  • Providing opinions that contribute to adjustments/improvements in the formulated procurement policy, internal organization of the flow of goods and procedures.
  • Creating a maximally flexible supply chain through the right strategic and released suppliers under the right conditions.

In conclusion, you work on the basis of technical specifications provided by the applicant. You assess the received quotations according to the technical internal instructions and communicate them with the internal customer. You choose the production processes and the supplier based on the technical requirements, you negotiate the quotation and conclude the purchasing agreement. In the event of an emergency, you also determine when and how measures should be taken towards the supplier. You consult with your manager in a timely manner about anticipated or assumed risks.

Your qualifications

You possess excellent communication skills, both in the internal organization and towards suppliers. You can effectively set goals and priorities and indicate the time, actions and resources needed to achieve certain goals. You are actively focused on achieving results and objectives and are also able to intervene in case of disappointing results. You are analytical, precise and have excellent communication skills. You are also able to continue to perform effectively under time pressure, in the face of setbacks or adversity. You also have an excellent ability to switch between strategic, tactical and operational levels. 

In addition, you have: 

  • At least a completed technical MBO+ education.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and oral, knowledge of the German language is a plus.
  • Working experience within the automotive and/or fasteners sector is an advantage.
